Blood tests are used to diagnose illness and useful as they can draw attention to health problems. It tells us a great deal.
We use a new needle for every patient. We take extra measures so you stay away from being infected. There is just a slight risk of discomfort when the needle went in.
Blood tests are done to identify which illness and take preventative measures. Your blood test results will show if you have a particular illness or a mineral deficiency, such as iron. They can also show whether the levels of various substances in your blood to give you an indicator so you are aware if you have any deficiencies.
Before registering for a blood test, some tests require you to fast for up to 12 hours. Your doctor will advise you accordingly.
Radiology department
We practice the highest safety standards to protect our patients. Our modern digital X-ray and CT machines use advanced dose-reduction software to deliver the lowest possible radiation dose. Pregnancy Warning: If you are pregnant, or suspect you might be, you must tell our radiographer before any X-ray or CT scan so we can use protective lead shields or recommend radiation-free alternative scans like ultrasound. MRI Warning: Because the MRI machine uses a powerful magnetic field, you must remove all metal objects (watches, jewellery, piercings, keys) before entering the room. You must inform our staff if you have a pacemaker, metallic implants, or shrapnel in your body.
Preparation depends on the specific scan your doctor ordered: For Ultrasounds (Abdomen/Pelvis): Do not eat for 4 to 6 hours before the scan. Drink 1 litre of plain water one hour before the test and do not empty your bladder; a full bladder helps create clear ultrasound images.

For critical emergency cases, a provisional report is communicated verbally to your doctor immediately.
