Research, Innovation and Development

In line with education 5.0 the Research, Innovation and Development acts as a bridge between research and industrial applicability, through the innovation and biomedical research with the aim to become a regional centre of excellence by establishing global strategic research partnerships in biomedical engineering, Biopharmaceuticals and Medical Biotechnology. Our goal is to advance research and implementation measures to national and continental health issues.

Capacity building

We are a fully equipped environment with the complete application of innovation elements, continuous knowledge acquisition, applicability transfer addressing and research platform for scientists to expand their concepts and develop industrial prototypes in a well-balanced environment, through multidisciplinary partnerships and collaborations.

Drug discovery

Drug discovery and therapeutics research mainly focuses on investigations in traditional herbal medicines through active ingredient identification, toxicity analysis and dosage standardization. There is also the study of exposure at the target site of action; binding to the pharmacological target; and expression of pharmacology from the site of action. 

Bioinformatics

Identifying the significance of metagenomics and technology progression, bioinformatics is used to have a more effective method of drug discovery and target site compatibility. The system paired with Next Generation Sequencing allows for an efficient method disease understanding and surveillance for both communicable and non-communicable conditions

Molecular Biology

Innovative products and systems that can be integrated into the healthcare system and biomedical industry through the production of diagnostic kits, therapeutic proteins as a result recombinant DNA technology.

Microbiology

Applications of the science in the study or microbiological components including fungi bacteria and viruses, to monitor microbial changes and mutations paired with molecular biology and bioinformatics. Microbiology will also pave way for product development and improvement.
